At Restivo Beds, every bed frame and mattress is built to last. This page explains exactly what's covered, for how long, and how to make a claim — in plain English, with no small print designed to catch you out.
This page doesn't just cover our own promises to you — it also explains your separate legal rights as a UK consumer, which apply no matter what any guarantee says.
⚖️Your Statutory Rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, everything we sell must be:
- ✅ Of satisfactory quality — free from faults and defects
- ✅ As described — matching what was advertised or described to you
- ✅ Fit for purpose — usable for what a bed or mattress is normally used for
- ✅ Durable — lasting a reasonable length of time given the price and use
These rights exist automatically, by law, and apply for up to 6 years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (5 years in Scotland). In practice:
- 🕐 First 30 days: if the item is faulty, you're entitled to a full refund.
- 🔧 30 days to 6 months: you're entitled to a free repair or replacement. If a fault appears in this window, the law assumes it was there from the start — it's on us to prove otherwise, not you.
- 📅 After 6 months: you can still claim a repair, replacement or refund, but you may need to show the fault was present at the time of delivery (or is a manufacturing issue rather than wear and tear).
Our Restivo guarantee (below) sits on top of these rights — it never replaces or reduces them. You can always fall back on your statutory rights even if a guarantee period has ended or a specific guarantee condition hasn't been met.
🪵Restivo 5-Year Frame Guarantee
Every Restivo bed frame comes with a 5-year guarantee against structural and manufacturing faults, from the date of delivery, at no extra cost.
✅ What's covered:
- Structural failure of the frame, slats, or headboard fixings caused by a manufacturing or materials fault
- Faulty joints, welds, or mechanisms (e.g. ottoman lift mechanisms, drawer runners) that fail under normal household use
- Defects present at the point of delivery that only become apparent with use
❌ What's not covered:
- General wear and tear, fading, or scuffing from normal use
- Damage caused by misuse, house moves, accidents, or being used with an unsuitable mattress or base
- Damage from failing to assemble the bed according to the included instructions
- Frames used commercially (e.g. rental properties, hotels, care homes) rather than in a private home
- Second-hand purchases, unless resold with our written consent
📋 How to claim:
- 📧 Contact us with your order number, a description of the fault, and clear photos.
- 🔍 We'll assess whether it's covered under this guarantee.
- 🚚 If approved, we'll arrange collection of the affected item (or parts, where practical) — you won't need to arrange courier or removal yourself.
- 🔁 We'll repair or replace the faulty part or frame. If we can't repair or replace it, we'll offer a refund reflecting the item's age and use.
💷 There's no cost to you for a valid claim within the guarantee period — no admin fees, no collection charges.
😴100-Night Comfort Trial (Mattresses)
We know comfort is personal, and it can take a few weeks for your body to adjust to a new mattress. That's why every mattress purchased from Restivo Beds comes with a 100-night comfort trial.
🌙 How it works:
- Sleep on your new mattress for a minimum of 30 nights before requesting an exchange — this is how long it typically takes to properly adjust to a new mattress, so early discomfort isn't necessarily a sign it's the wrong one.
- If you're still not happy any time between 30 and 100 nights from delivery, contact us and we'll exchange it for a different mattress from our range.
- 🧼 The mattress must be used with a suitable mattress protector from day one, and returned in a clean, hygienic condition — for health and hygiene reasons, we can't accept a mattress back if it's stained, damaged, or has been used without a protector.
- 🔂 One exchange per order under this trial.
- 💰 If your replacement mattress costs more, you'll pay the difference; if it costs less, we'll refund the difference.
- 🚛 We'll arrange collection of the original mattress at the same time as delivering your replacement, so you're never left without a bed.
This trial is a goodwill guarantee from Restivo Beds, in addition to your statutory rights — it's not a legal requirement, but we think it removes the guesswork from buying a mattress online or without trying it first.
📞How to Make a Claim (Frames or Mattresses)

- 📸 Send photos — this helps us assess the issue quickly, often without needing an inspection visit.
- 🚚 We arrange everything — if collection or an in-home look is needed, we'll book this in at a time that works for you. You don't need to arrange transport or postage yourself for frames or mattresses.
- ✅ Resolution — repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the outcome of the assessment and your statutory rights.

🔄Returns (Change of Mind)
Separately from faults and guarantees, if you simply change your mind:
- 🗓️ Online orders: you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging/condition. ❓Frequently Asked Questions
🤔Does buying a guarantee affect my legal rights?
No. Guarantees and statutory rights are separate and independent. You can always use your Consumer Rights Act protections, even if a guarantee has expired or a specific condition wasn't met.
🎁What if I bought the bed as a gift, or it was given to me?
Our guarantee is intended for the original purchaser. If you received the bed as a gift, get in touch and we'll do our best to help, though proof of purchase will usually be needed.
🛏️Does the guarantee cover the mattress and the frame together?
No — they're covered separately. The frame has the 5-year structural guarantee; the mattress has its own 100-night comfort trial plus your statutory rights against faults.
⏳What if my fault appears after the 5-year guarantee ends?
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act may still apply for up to 6 years from purchase, depending on whether the fault is a manufacturing defect and how the item has been used. Get in touch and we'll look into it.
